The easy way is a direct flight: Buenos Aires to Salta takes about 2 hours 10 minutes to 2 hours 25 minutes. Aerolíneas Argentinas, Flybondi and JetSMART fly the route, mostly from Aeroparque (AEP), the airport in the city. If you land from abroad at Ezeiza (EZE), plan the transfer between airports. There are also direct flights from Iguazú to Salta a few times a week.

Mostly from Aeroparque Jorge Newbery (AEP), next to the river in Buenos Aires city. Some leave from Ezeiza (EZE), the international airport. Check the airport on your ticket: it is the most common mistake.
Yes, but leave a wide margin. Ezeiza and Aeroparque are about 45 km apart, and the drive takes 40 to 60 minutes without traffic, more at rush hour. Add immigration and baggage, and aim for a Salta flight at least four hours after you land. Many travellers prefer a night or two in Buenos Aires to rest first.
Yes. Aerolíneas Argentinas flies direct between Iguazú and Salta a few times a week, about two hours in the air. It is the best way to combine the falls with the Northwest without going back to Buenos Aires. On the other days you connect in Buenos Aires.
There are long-distance buses, but the trip takes most of a day and a night. If your time in Argentina is short, fly: the time you save is better spent in the Quebrada de Humahuaca or the Calchaquí Valleys.
Salta airport is a short drive from the city centre. On Pablo's trips he meets you at the airport or your hotel, and the first day can start right away.
